What is 2-1-1?

2-1-1 is an easy-to-remember number, similar to 9-1-1, that connects people to a wide range of free health and human services. By simply calling 2-1-1 or accessing www.win211.org anyone in need can be referred to one of over 5,000 community organizations providing essential services to people in Washington State.

How does 2-1-1 work?

By calling 2-1-1, callers can access a live Information and Referral Specialist, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. Trained specialists can guide the caller to programs that meet their unique needs including transportation, housing, food assistance and legal resources. Calls are free, anonymous and provided in the caller’s preferred language.

Apply for Food Assistance (food stamps)

You can apply for food assistance by simply calling 2-1-1. Through a partnership with DSHS, Greater Columbia 2-1-1 can complete your food application over the phone and then immediately submit it to DSHS for processing. We can also complete your recertification review over the phone. We can answer any eligibility questions you may have. Simply call 2-1-1.
