The intern is not entitled to a job at the conclusion of the internship. Interns may apply to be considered for open positions. For the purposes of the PFP Internship program, both the organization and the intern agree that entitlement of wages is not provided for the time spent in the internship.
The internship is considered similar to training in an educational environment, even though it includes actual operation of the facilities and People For People. The internship experience is for the benefit of the intern. The intern does not displace regular employees, but works under close supervision of existing staff.
People For People as the organization that provides training, derives no immediate advantage from the activities of the intern and on occasion our operations may be impeded.
